Elaine Starner
Elaine Starner is a freelance writer, editor, and ghostwriter. The information and expertise she brings to Suite101 rise from pursuit of her own passions: traveling Maine, enjoying life in Ohio’s Amish country, and studying Scripture.
For almost 10 years, Elaine has been making trips to the coast of Maine, exploring, meeting people, introducing friends to “the way life should be”. She enjoys traveling and adventuring anywhere, but Maine is always her first choice of destinations. The coast, the air, the scenery are all spectacular, but it’s mostly the people she meets that draw her back repeatedly.
Indulging this attraction to Maine also expanded Elaine's appreciation of the beauty of her hometown in Ohio, smack-dab in the center of the world’s largest Amish community. Thirty years ago, the area was a rural, farming, quiet area. Now over four million visitors come each year, and tourism and hospitality thrive in Holmes County.
A third passion is studying the Scriptures, the one place Elaine has discovered truth that she can depend on—even in this uncertain world. She blogs about living as a child of God on http://livingaschildrenofgod.wordpress.com/.
Here at Suite101, she hopes to be your travel guide to the saltiness of the Maine coast and the hospitality of Amish country.
